Fresh Green Salad With Feta Cheese

Including salad in your daily diet not only adds fiber but also provides a low-calorie nutrient-rich meal which is easy to prepare and that too using a few simple ingredients. Most salads include tomatoes and greens that are full of antioxidants, calcium, iron and vitamins.

Here is one of my favorites – inspired by a similar preparation I ate at The Yoga House a few months ago. It’s called ‘Fresh Green Salad with Feta Cheese‘.

Lettuce, Cabbage, Cherry Tomatoes, Pomegranate, Orange or Pear (whichever is available at home), Feta Cheese, Walnuts, Olive Oil and Salt.

It’s fairly simple. Chop or cut the lettuce and cabbage in to small pieces. Put in a bowl and add rest of the ingredients (except the feta cheese) to it. Add two teaspoons of olive oil and salt to this mix. Mix it lightly and finally add the feta cheese in the end.

Eat it fresh within a few minutes of preparation. It’s yummy and super healthy.

I refrain from  adding too many spices or fattening seasonings in my salads for obvious reasons. Feel free to season it to match your taste palettes.

Do let me know how it turns out.
